About the concert:
Featuring & curated by local singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Fears, Austin Unconducted is pairing three of Fears' original songs with works for string orchestra. Inspired by Daniel's interest in Dub and traditional West African percussion music, this program spotlights Daniel's intuitive musicianship and Unconducted's modern take on classical music. Daniel's songs are paired alongside works by J.S. Bach, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, and Charleton Singleton, as well as newly composed transitions between the pieces by members of Unconducted, offering fans of all music a fresh way to listen to each style.

About the curator:
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Fears is obsessed with evolving – finding new ways to express emotion and feeling. Fears grew up appreciating different musical worlds: the Christian and Gospel music of his family; the R&B, soul, and hip hop his friends introduced to him; and the classical music he studied at The University of Texas and Yale University.
This diverse musical upbringing brought about a desire to collaborate with a wide variety of instrumentalists, artists, and creatives. In the last 2 years he's collaborated and/or partnered with KUTX, KMFA, Austin Classical Guitar, and the American Music Abroad program.
